Insufficiency, because the BOTDR[1] principle sensor has been applied in the monitoring of oil and gas pipelines, the application value of the POTDR principle sensor in the monitoring of oil and gas pipelines was discussed, and a POTDR[2] sensing system with fiber grating was designed. The grating enhances the intensity of the reflected signal light, which can effectively improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the sensing system and make the measurement of vibration more accurate. Not only vibration, but the influence of pressure, temperature, magnetic field and other physical quantities along the optical fiber will also cause the polarization state of the light wave to change. By collecting and analyzing the change in the polarization state of the light wave, the change in the physical quantity that caused the change in the polarization state of the light wave can be reversed, so as to realize the measurement of physical quantity.
