ENFOQUES TEÓRICOS DE LA INGENIERÍA INDUSTRIAL

Abstract

Since prehistory, human beings have adapted, in their expressions and ways of life, to different contexts in order to meet needs, as a basis for their preservation and evolution. Primitive man achieved inventions like fire by the friction of two sticks and then the wheel. Since then, he has used ingenuity as the ability to devise, design and build tools. Precisely, the word engineer, is derived from the word ingenuity, and, hence Industrial Engineering, with the impulse of the Industrial Revolution and the contributions of different precursors such as Taylor, Fayol, Ford, Mayo and Deming, is constituted as a discipline that has made contributions focused on the division of labor, scientific administration, forms of management and control of production, studies of movements and times, operations analysis, the study of productivity, statistical process control, strategic planning in the creation of competitiveness, quality management, integrated management and logistics systems.
