Waste management in the system of international economic relations

Abstract

The article discusses the waste management system in the aspect of international economic relations. The main international normative-legal acts regulating the sphere of waste management are analyzed. The main problems of waste management in terms of international economic relations are given. Today, the issue of safe waste management is acute all over the world and is one of the key goals of sustainable development. And this issue is becoming even more relevant given the COVID-19 pandemic. Responsible consumption and production is a promising direction in the driving force of the economy, which allows harmonizing the relationship between society (as a consumer of natural resources) and the natural environment in order to preserve natural resources. Socio-economic progress in the course of its development is accompanied by environmental pollution and depletion of natural resources. In this connection, for many countries, the priority task is to develop consumption and production in the direction in which sustainable development will be achieved. © 2022 Author(s).
