Abstract

Distributed Flexible AC Transmission Systems (D-FACTS) devices can be used as a distributed solution for relieving congestion in transmission lines. In this work, a model for D-FACTS devices is developed in an electromagnetic transients program and steady-state performance is validated against the existing model in PowerWorld.
