Operational Cost of Primary Power Supply Equipment as Planning Driver

Abstract

This paper presents an asset planning approach for managing a primary power supply equipment from economical point of view. The technical and economic analyses are illustrated through a case study comparing two options applicable for an aged power transformer, replacement versus complete overhauling. Initial investment, cost of overhauling, and operation and maintenance are the main inputs to the developed economic model.
