COMPUTER SYSTEMS FOR PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

Abstract

The goal of this paper is to make a survey of possible tools for public participation during the urban planning process. Involving citizens is a key-issue in a democratic process. Now, with novel computer systems, novel approaches can be envisioned based: Forum organization allowing citizens to discuss and give their opinions about new plans Using of new image generation systems, or augmented reality systems such as the users can be immerged in the newly planned city, and give opinions about their future Using of argumaps in order to locate opinions, suggestions and criticisms.
