Abstract

Image sensor communication (ISC) has appeared as one of the brand-new technologies of the recent era due to the pervasiveness of image sensor (camera) in the smartphone which operates as a receiver and light emitting device that work as a transmitter. Invisibility is a new term for ISC to adopt a communication process between light emitting device, for instance, display and image sensor (e. g: smartphone camera) without notifying the users of the data that is embedded in the image of the display. Although several method has been suggested for invisible communication between display and camera, this work proposes a new mechanism to transmit data from the display image to image sensor receiver. The intensity of the pixels in an image is varied over a period sequentially that the changes can be converted to a signal for communication. The derived signal from the sequential changing of the pixels can be compared to the RF signal in case of communication aspect. In addition, the idea of MIMO has been applied in the communication with a view to removing the shortcomings of low data rate issues of the ISC technology. The performance analysis of our proposed scheme illustrates the practicability with the advantages of the communication methodology.
