ILLUSTRATION BOOK DESIGN ABOUT AN EX-PROSTITUTE

Abstract

Localization known as "Dolly" in surabaya has been closed. Society gives a bad look at an ex-prostitute. Such bad views are given like people who have no morals, violate customs, laws, and religions. But many people do not know that an ex-prostitute has largely continued her life in a better direction. Surabaya city government has provided facilities for an ex-prostitute in order to successfully plunge into the world of entrepreneurship. This research aims to design an illustrated book design about an ex-prostitute. The design of the illustrated book raises the social phenomenon of their efforts to be accepted in society again. The research focused on creating an illustration book design. Qualitative data collection is obtained by interviewing, observing and analyzing documents of the in-depth symptoms recorded. The research process also analyzes descriptively analytics. The design is described in a logical manner according to the thought flow process. The process of thinking flow in the process of work using the theory of design methodology from Wells. The design methodology used includes pre-production, production, and post-production stages. The conclusion obtained is the process of design methodology that uses the theory of wells can run well. The progress of the design process well is inseparable from the conformity in the field that applies the theory of design methodology gradually. The design methodology used is through the pre-production, production and post-production stages of a design. The next conclusion is that the use of design methodology has resulted in the concepts of visual presentation. The design methodology used produces the concept of cyberpunk style illustration, and neo-noir, luminescent colors, typography using Typewriter and Arial typeface, and layouts that produce grid manuscript combined with multipanel layouts.
