Abstract

Compared with the conventional motors used on the ground, the DC starter-generators (DCSGs) for aero-engines have higher electrical, thermal, magnetic and mechanical loads. Excessive electrical loads will increase the armature reaction of the (DCSGs) and worsen the commutation performance, thus shortening the lifespan and reducing the reliability of the DCSGs.
