Abstract
This paper presents a cost-benefit analysis (CBA) of the justification of the proposal for a university campus microgrid (UCMG) based on different types of distributed energy sources (DESs) built and planned at the Faculty of Technical Sciences Novi Sad (FTN NS). The UCMG “FTN-NS“ proposal is based on the application of distributed generator technologies that represent 2 photovoltaic (PV) power plants, 1 wind power plant, 1 combined heat and power plant, a technology of distributed energy storage systems that represents a battery energy storage system, devices for connection, operation and control of the microgrid, and electricity consumers. The CBA calculates the technical and ecological parameters of the case study UCMG ”FTN-NS” taking into account 5 different scenarios in terms of changing economic conditions and factors. In order to verify the justification of the implementation of the UCMG proposal, the verification of the scientific-technological aspects of the application of different DESs, and the obtaining of as much as possible CBA analysis, the potentials of renewable energy sources (RES) in the Republic of Serbia are processed, analyzed and presented, technical conditions and technical recommendations connection of small power plants to the main distribution grid, and economic mechanisms for stimulating the production of electricity from various RES.
