Abstract

Researchers at the Philips Institute and the Nucleic Acids Core Facility at the Virginia Commonwealth University are sequencing the genome of Streptococcus sanguis, a microorganism that colonizes the mouth and can lead to periodontal disease and bacterial endocarditis [VCU, 2004].
