Corporate Governance - Selection of Top-Management: Indian Management Wisdom

Abstract

The top-management of any organization is just like the head of the human body. The functioning of the body-organisation, its efficiency, effectiveness, survival and growth depends on the top-management. Hence selection of the members of the top-management or board of directors becomes very crucial. The available literature focuses primarily on the selection of junior level and middle level managers. This paper attempt to highlight the contribution of Indian management thought specifically on the selection of top-management from a work written more than 2000 years ago, yet relevant and valid even today!
