Abstract

Power system operation can be save the energy using power Economic Dispatch (ED). It is used to be operation at optimal generation unit power for minimum fuel cost to meeting the specific load demand. The outlines of this article are the essential foundation for applying the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm for Economic Dispatch operation. It considers generating cost function parameters with practical constraints of ramp rate limits, prohibited operating zones, generation operating limits and valve-point loading. Several test systems of 6 units, 10 units, 13 units, and 15 generating units have been used to satisfied the propose algorithm.
