Abstract
In this paper, we have analytically studied the potential rise using the FDTD (finite-difference time-domain) method to prove the effects of the deeply buried grounding electrodes, which have been applied to the grounding system of a mobile phone base station. From the results, it has become obvious that a grounding system using deeply buried grounding electrodes is efficiently able to control the potential rise near the earth's surface, and is able to reduce the influence of this potential rise on the surroundings of the grounding electrode.
