In this paper, a decision tree- based dynamic assessment strategy for authentic learning is proposed, which is able to guide to learn to identify the plant features during the assessment process. To evaluate the effectiveness of the innovative approach, an assessment activity has been conducted on the\"Host Plants of Butterflies\" unit of the K 4-th Natural Science course in Taiwan. Abstract
