Abstract
The authors derive the symbol error probability for hard decision clipper receivers in an environment with both band multitone jamming and background noise interference. Using the results, they evaluate pairwise error probabilities for coded systems using majority vote decision (MVD) decoding with or without jamming state information (JSI). They find the optimum tone jamming strategies from the jammer's point of view and their worst case pairwise error probabilities from the communicator's point of view for various levels of background noise interference. It is found that the performance for MVD decoding with JSI is better than that for MVD decoding without JSI when noise interference is low. This result is reversed when noise interference is low. It is also found that the optimum value of the clipping level is always less than the signaling power level in low to moderate interference conditions.<>
