Using the broad reach of the Internet, RIAs can be deployed across browsers and desktops. Smart GWT is a GWT-based framework that facilitates the development of RIAs. However, Smart GWT only focuses on presentation layer, but not on all layers which RIAs usually have. This paper introduces the Rapid Application Development Framework, or RADF, which helps construct RIA effectively and efficiently. Based on Smart GWT, RADF delivers the same features and functions normally associated with desktop applications. Moreover, it could accelerate the development process of Web-based application by pre built frameworks and templates.
