Results illustrate that proposed DMYMLFSPM machine have negligible attractive force, lower thrust force ripples ratio, reduced cogging force and THD, while higher average thrust force, when compared with conventional DSYMLSFPM machine. Abstract

This paper proposes a novel Dual Mover Yokeless Multi-tooth Linear Flux Switching Permanent Magnetic (DMYMLFSPM) machine that is suitable for low speed applications. Utilizing commercial Finite Element Analysis (FEA) package, two different topologies, i.e., conventional Dual Stator Yokeless Multi-tooth Linear Switched Flux Permanent Magnet (DSYMLSFPM) machine and proposed DMYMLFSPM are analyzed and compared for electromagnetic performance such as detent force, attractive force, average thrust force, thrust force ripple ratio, no load flux linkage, and Total Harmonics Distortion (THD).
