Abstract

The paper discusses the practical design considerations for a continuous wave power amplifier operating at 3.7 GHz. It describes several issues such as layout routing, selection of components, tolerance etc. The paper suggests appropriate measures for the development of a realistic circuit of a power amplifier. The simulated results show an output power of 45.3 dBm for an efficiency of 50 %. The measured results are comparable and would be further optimized.
