Abstract

A 1550-nm optical CATV-AM FTTC system has been developed using distributed feedback (DFB) lasers and optical amplifiers 54 AM/VSB (VHF+UHF) channels are distributed. A technico-economic analysis is carried out using the SYNTHESYS (synthetic evaluation of systems) modeling which has been used to calculate the number of components (lasers, optical amplifiers, receivers, splices, etc...) to implement a network.
