Abstract

With the high development of real-time transmission schemes for logging while drilling (LWD) system, acoustic wave transmission on drill strings has obtained increasing attention. Considering the comb-type spectral characteristics, Non-contiguous orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (NC-OFDM) is adopted to achieve acoustic wave transmission. This paper proposed an adaptive time synchronization scheme for NC-OFDM-based acoustic system. Firstly, the drill strings channel characteristic is analyzed, and the NC-OFDM transmission model is presented. Then, an adaptive timing synchronization scheme is introduced to achieve timing synchronization. Finally, simulation results confirm the out performance.
