Abstract

This article aims at reflecting on the meaning and the role of typing courses in the city of Vitoria da Conquista in the decades of 1930 and 1940, by considering Taylor’s principles of work organization, in a conjuncture of affirming and deepening an urban-industrial production model. To do so, testimonies given by ancient people were used as well as the analysis of documents and photographs of a school that once existed in the city.
