Abstract

This paper determines, using real time measurements with real video content on satellite television (TV) channels, which are the satellite broadcasting plans that offer the best viewer Perceptual Video Quality (PVQ). In the case of satellite television providers there is a tradeoff between the number of the television channels delivered by a transponder, and the video quality on each of these channels.
