An office specification lanaguage based on path expressions

Abstract

The goal of building office information systems requires a representation of office work and its relevant objects. The concern of this paper is that of describing the flow of information between active agents in an office environment, within the framework of a language based on Path Expressions. A model is developed, composing of three levels of abstraction. Each level corresponds to a different abstract view of the work in an office environment. An experimental prototype system has been implemented at the Politecnico di Milano to test the feasibility of our local distributed system
