Abstract
In this paper we assess the effects of nonlinear optical subsystem and linear time variant RF channel of Radio-over-Fiber (RoF) in Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) on the system bit error rate (BER) performance by computer simulations. These effects are compensated by pilot aided estimation and equalization approach at different Output Back-Off (OBOs) levels. BER plots show that this approach is an effective strategy even at maximum nonlinearity i.e. 0.0 dB OBO.
