Abstract

Many of the naturally occurring plants have the tendency to treat all metabolic related disorders. Aloe vera is one of the most commonly found herb in daily life. Its phytochemicals are effective in treating and inhibiting the cancer activities. This study deals with analyzing the nature of ductal carcinoma MCF – 7 breast cancer cell lines when tested with the PEF treated aloe vera extract and the results are compared with the percentage of cell viability when treating the same cell lines with untreated aloe vera extract. The phytochemical constituents are checked for their enhancement when ethanolic Aloe vera leaves are subjected to hot solvent extraction. PEF treatment is given to the extract with the electric field range of 1200V/cm to 1400V/cm with 8 number of electric pulses and with triplet experiments. PEF treatment on aloe vera extract showed that there is about 45% enhancement in phytochemicals. The final results of the study indicated that, 24 hours treated MCF – 7 ductal carcinoma breast cancer cell lines showed about 73% of cell death with 100ug/mL concentration of drug, and there is also enhancement of phytochemical constituents in the aloe extract.
