Abstract

The high accuracy fitting of the Raman gain profile is presented using two independent methods, namely the multimode Gaussian decomposition and rational approximation. The accurate approximation of experimental data was resulted in a simple analytic form and it is forming the reliable basis for calculating a lot of the mainly important practical parameters for many devices based on Raman photonics.
