Abstract

Novel rack-level interconnects are urgently required to support frequent inter-server communications in emerging large-scale distributed in-memory applications. In this paper, we introduce DoCE, a memory semantic fabric via Direct extension of on-chip interconnect (DEOI) over Converged Ethernet. Based on the architectural support for fine-grained remote memory sharing, DoCE provides a 9.6x speedup for distributed implementation of PageRank algorithm on our dual-node ARM SoC-FPGA prototype versus a conventional TCP/IP based solution.
