Abstract
In this paper a modification of the mesh deformation algorithm based on linear elasticity equations is investigated. The technique solves a mesh movement problem as a series of steady-state solutions of linear elasticity equations with inhomogeneous mechanical properties of the material. It is shown that such an iterative version of the algorithm leads to an improved quality of the resulting mesh for large structure deformations, which are common in the case of object rotation. The technique is targeted to finite element simulations in computational electromagnetics.
