Abstract
Business process lifecycle management is established for the continuous improvement of internal business processes that do not exceed company borders. Therefore, the concept could also be applied to enhance collaborative business processes spanning over multiple enterprises. In contrast to the intraorganizational case, lifecycle management of cross-organizational collaborative processes imposes several organizational and technological challenges that results from the multiple-independent-actors-environment of collaborations. In this article, we address these challenges and present a conceptual solution for the different phases of this lifecycle. Finally, we propose a technical architecture that prototypically implements these concepts.
