Abstract

Energy efficiency is considered as the core issue in the design of WSN. However, in many application network delay is important especially in case of critical real-time applications. For such applications, the system should be time responsive. Clustering is one technique that is used very effectively to achieve scaling up and power saving in WSNs. However, its main drawback is dealing with network delay. In this work, we have proposed a clustering scheme which able to meet both delay and energy constraints. It allows data transmission from sensor nodes to the base station (BS) in reasonable delay and also ensure energy efficiency.
