Abstract

The paper presents the possibility of using higher-order transforms to detect unbalance in permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). The phenomenon of unbalance and the method of its detection by means of mechanical vibration analysis are described. Bispectrum analysis and full spectrum transform were used to detect damage and their effectiveness was compared with those obtained using classical fast Fourier transform. The research methodology based on the signal of mechanical vibration acquisition is presented and the results obtained are discussed.
