FPGA Implementation of PIR based security alert system using BASYS 3 kit

Abstract

This paper explains the use of FPGA in home or industrial security alert system using a PIR(Passive Infrared) sensor and a GSM(Global System for Mobile communication) module. In this paper, the set-up consists of both the sensor and the GSM module interfaced to the FPGA kit. Both these are programmed in such a way that in case of any security threat, the owner in remote area can know about the unusual thing happening in home or where the system is been set even at his or her absence. FPGA devices provide a wide range of protection to various security threats.
