Abstract

Welcome to the 28th International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium (IPDPS’14) taking place in Phoenix, Arizona in the USA. We are very pleased you are taking part in this technical forum centered broadly on parallel and distributed processing which brings together top research scientists and engineers from all around the world from academia, research laboratories, and industry. This area of computing is growing in importance and pervasiveness, especially given that we are in an era of multicore and manycore processors and accelerators, extreme scale systems and Big Data. We do hope you will find the conference and these proceedings exciting and rewarding.
