Abstract
Soft soil foundation is often subjected to periodic vibration and intermittent action during traffic loading. To investigate the consolidation characteristics of saturated clay under traffic loading, one-dimensional rheological consolidation equation is established based on the fractional derivative Merchant (FDMM) rheological model and intermittent cyclic loading, and the finite difference method is used to solve the equation. Then, the influences of different mechanical parameters on the rheological consolidation of saturated clay are investigated. It shows that during the intermittent period the smaller the fractional order $\alpha$ is, the greater the soil rebound is. The loading number N in a single cycle affects the peak of consolidation degree. The smaller N is, the higher the peak consolidation degree is. The intermittent ratio W has a great influence on the consolidation, and the soil rebound is positively correlated with W The research results will be the good reference for understanding the consolidation characteristics of saturated clay under intermittent cyclic loading.
