Abstract
The border between the physical world and the cyber or digital world is becoming increasingly blurred. Lately, advancement in various technology especially in information and communication technology has led towards a digitalized era. This is supported by the betterment of communication infrastructure including the Internet which is widely accessible and affordable to the masses. On the other hand, the fourth industrial revolution does not only affect the industry but also influence various sectors including the education sectors. Unfortunately, with all the latest technologies, the Covid-19 pandemic still spread all over the world and affected the world’s economy. The education sectors need to quickly adapt to this problem. New norms are being introduced to control the spreading of this virus which includes social distancing, avoiding crowded places and work from home. Digitalizing the education using Industry 4.0 elements could be a solution to continue to provide good quality education especially for TVET, now and in the future. This project is to develop an integrated online training management system for TVET in Malaysia as part of a fully integrated digital education system concept. MySPIKE is a training management system that was developed inhouse by the Department of Skill Development.
