A metallic plate is located at the back of the proposed smartwatch antenna to simulate the backed shell of smartwatch. Abstract

This paper proposes a dual-port dual-band smartwatch antenna with polarization diversity. The antenna is located on the frame of smartwatches and realized by composite right/left handed-transmission line (CRLH-TL).
