Abstract

Clinical researchers have, for some time, attempted to record olfactory evoked potentials from scalp electrodes. Such measurements would be especially useful for the objective determination of olfactory and trigeminal nerve integrity. These efforts have resulted in major advances, but the process remains problematic. An alternative approach which uses traditional visual and auditory ERPs modulated by odor stimuli is discussed.
