Abstract

The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is one of the most Catholic popular feasts in Lithuania and Latvia. In Lithuania it is prominently celebrated in Krekenava and Pivasiūnai and in Latvia – in Aglona. In this feast it is so many local cultural of the ritual identities. Among the nations they are complement each other and give the results of the research validate the hypothesis, set at the beginning of the research, that the culture of the ritual of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Lithuania (Krekenava and Pivasiūnai) withal Latvia (Aglona) reveals in Aglona a plenty spectrum of sacred places and religious songs and all these countries united piety picture of The Blessed Virgin Mary and the pray of the Blessed Virgin Mary rosary.
