Abstract

Abstract This chapter defines TEFL tourism (i.e., tourism that involves teaching English as a foreign language) before examining the TEFL opportunities worldwide. Voluntary versus paid positions, self-sourced positions, development agency positions, and tour operator positions are discussed. Ambiguities in TEFL tourism are also briefly considered, before discussing the regulation of the sector.
