In this paper a tuning method for determining the parameters of PID controller for a system using an ABC optimization algorithm is proposed. Artificial bee colony algorithm has been proved one of the best recently proposed swarm intelligence based tuning algorithm. This algorithm of artificial bee colony optimization is proposed for numerical global optimization. ABC mimics the intelligent foraging behavior of honey bees. Abstract
