For enhancing the energy efficiency of WSN, we propose distributed source coding based on virtual MIMO. In DSC-MIMO, DSC compresses redundant data, transmitted from sensor nodes before sending it to virtual MIMO link. The simulation results indicate that distributed source coding can minimize the energy consumption and enhance the energy efficiency of the WSN at different transmission distances. Abstract
