Cluster analysis was carried out using the software package. As a result of cluster analysis, it was determined that the existing excavator designs can be divided into three groups. Histograms of the distribution are constructed. With their help, modal intervals and the middle are determined. The criterion of significance and the weighting coefficient for each indicator are determined. The coefficient of the technical level is calculated. Abstract

The article is devoted to the definition of promising excavator designs. The paper presents current models of excavators operating on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
