In the literature, although much has been written about volunteering, there is little research on school volunteering, especially its educational significance. It seems legitimate to study the attitudes of teachers and young people already on the threshold of adulthood toward volunteering. In Poland, participation in volunteering is at a low level. Therefore, it seems important to activate young people and strengthen pro-social attitudes in them. One of the benefits of such activity is the formation of social, civic and educational competencies of youth in action. The present study is an attempt at both theoretical considerations on the issue of volunteering, as well as a study of volunteering in general high schools in Szczecin. This monograph wanted to show that volunteering can support education, through learning in its various aspects, enhancing individual, social and professional development. Volunteering is a form of non-formal and lifelong education. Thus, an attempt was made to study volunteering in high schools. Abstract
