During normal operation, the machine operates in dual-channel operation mode whereas after fault of one channel, further operation of the machine can be continued in so-called single-channel operation mode. Static flux characteristics i.e. dependencies of self-fluxes and mutual fluxes in the function of phase current and rotor position for particular phases of each channel of 12/8 DCBLDC machine were determined based on 2D FEM calculations. Abstract
In the paper, three-phase motor with permanent magnets which consists of two independently supplied windings on stator called by the authors DCBLDC (Dual-Channel Brushless Direct Current) was discussed. The stator windings are supplied by two independent power converters.
