Abstract

The purpose of this work is to assess the performance of a Cognitive Radio (CR) scheme using both Matlab simulation program and Python programming language to present the results of measurements performed in a testbed implemented using Software Defined Radio (SDR) for a Cooperative Spectrum Sensing (CSS) scenario. The spectrum sensing method considers the Welch spectrum sensing approach as well as the parameters and operational characteristics of the software-defined radio (SDR) Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) device. This modified Welch method provides more accurate spectrum sensing. In addition, the Non-Overlapping Welch and the dwell delay digital signal processing blocks were implemented in the testbed.
