Abstract
In this paper, we present an improved scattered pilot synchronization (SPS) scheme in the digital video broadcasting-handheld (DVB-H) system, which detects the pilot pattern of currently received orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol. To reduce the SPS time and mitigate the influence of sampling frequency offset (SFO), the proposed SPS method is based on the conventional correlation-based SPS and adopts a partial correlation. By using computer simulation, the synchronization performance of the traditional SPS and the proposed SPS algorithms is evaluated in terms of probability of synchronization failure.
