Abstract

A zero-voltage switched(ZVS) converter based on buck topology is proposed in this paper. By simply paralleling output inductor with a clamp switch, zero voltage switching(ZVS) of both main and synchronous switches can be realized. As a result of soft switching, higher conversion rate of input and output voltage and higher efficiency is able to be realized. Meanwhile, a fixed frequency control mode is adopted to simplify the design of EMI filters. A 30W, 500kHz ZVS buck converter is experimentally verified.
