Abstract

The scope of this Paper is a contribution to the development of the chapter Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) of an Energy building code (EBC) for Lebanon. For this purpose, energy analysis were performed using DesignBuilder as a simulation tool, decomposing Lebanon into 5 different climatic zones with their corresponding hourly weather files, and focusing mainly into 3 building types which are Residential standard (building of 8 floors in Beirut and 3-4 floors in others regions with 2 apartments of 240 m2 per floor), Residential standing (building of 8 floors in Beirut and 3-4 floors in others regions with 1 apartments of 300 m2 per floor), and Non-Residential offices (building of 8 floors in Beirut and 3-4 floors in others regions with 580 m2 floor area).
