Abstract
The amplitude and phase characteristics of the electric field at a finite distance from the linear and planar antenna arrays with a small number of radiators in their near field observation are theoretically investigated. It is shown that in the case of the antenna arrays lowest possible sizes of 2×1 and 2×2 radiators the field amplitude decreases uniformly with increasing longitudinal and transverse coordinates of observation points. With increasing number of radiators to 4×1 and 4×4 in the near field antenna arrays the searchlight beam is formed, in which the field amplitude decreases slightly by oscillating laws. The length of the area searchlight beam is greater in the case of the aperture antenna arrays with square-shaped aperture.
